Bisons men’s hockey swept by Huskies

The U of M Bisons men’s hockey team has had a very tough start to the 2021-22 season. The University of Saskatchewan Huskies were in town this weekend and the herd lost both games, 4-3 in the first and 4-0 the next day.


Bisons soccer attempts late playoff push

In a last-ditch effort to make the Canada West playoffs, the Bisons women’s soccer team won both of its final games of the season, beating the University of Winnipeg Wesmen 1-0 and 3-1. Unfortunately, the team’s hopes also relied on a University of Regina Cougars loss against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on Sunday, and although the herd secured its last two wins of the season, a Cougars victory laid to rest any playoff plans.


Former Bison is first U-Sports female football player

In 2018, the Mississauga, Ont. native became the first female athlete ever to be named to a U-Sports football roster when she was named to the University of Manitoba Bisons football team, a monumental moment for sports in Canada. For Iizuka, attending the U of M was a choice made easy after meeting Bison head coach Brian Dobie.
