The University of Manitoba men’s basketball team has qualified for the playoffs, and will be the fifth seed.

On Friday Feb. 10, the Bison men’s basketball team got in the win column with a heart stopping 72-71 victory over the Mount Royal Cougars.
The Bisons fell 79-68 to the Bobcats on Friday night; Brandon picked up where they left off and defeated the Bisons 92-77 on Saturday night.
Manitoba made it eight after winning 86-85 on Friday and 77-68 on Saturday.
The Bisons opened the weekend with a 108-76 win on Friday night, and completed the weekend sweep with a 115-91 victory on Saturday.
The Bisons won 93-81 on Friday and completed the sweep with an 84-75 win on Saturday.
Now, with five straight wins, Manitoba will look to carry their momentum into the second half of Canada West division play.
Despite interest in a number of other sports as a child, the six-foot-seven freshman is following in his father’s footsteps, and still playing basketball today.
The Bisons swept the series with a 91-60 win on Thursday and won the men’s basketball portion of the Duckworth Challenge on Saturday with a thrilling 79-78 win.
On Saturday, the Bisons men’s basketball team fell to the University of Alberta Golden bears, 72-64.
