This weekend, the first-ranked Bison women’s hockey team was in Lethbridge, Alta., for a series against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. They won 3-0 on Friday night and completed the sweep with a 3-2 win in double overtime on Saturday.

Emilie Masse scored her first ever goal as a Bison in Friday night’s shutout win. She also earned her first assist in the Saturday rematch. Rachel Dyck earned her fourth shutout on Friday, levelling her with rookie teammate Lauren Taraschuk. Saturday’s double overtime win was also Dyck’s 50th  career win.

Manitoba sits in first in the Canada West with a 20-5-2-1-1 record, five points up on the University of British Columbia.

With the University of Calgary Dinos coming to the Wayne Fleming Arena on Feb. 9-10, the Bisons just need two points to clinch first seed throughout the Canada West playoffs.
