With the University of Calgary slipping up against the University of Lethbridge, the Bisons claimed sole possession of third place in the Canada West. Manitoba is two points up on the Dinos with a 9-5-2 record, going 7-1-2 in their last 10 games.

Manitoba’s offence was on fire this weekend, putting up 13 goals over the two-game series. Kamerin Nault continued his torrid pace, putting up three goals and an assist, to bring his total up to 16 points in 16 games. Nault is now second in the Canada West in goals. His linemates, Zach Franko and Michael St. Croix, also feasted on the T-Birds this weekend. St. Croix played the part of playmaker, notching four assists over the weekend. St. Croix leads the Bisons with 19 points in 16 games. Franko added three assists over the weekend, bringing his point total to 14.

Captain Brett Stovin apparently likes playing UBC as he scored his first goal since the Oct. 8 3-2 win over the T-Birds. Stovin scored not once, but twice in Friday night’s 7-3 win, he added two assists in the 6-3 win on Saturday afternoon.

The Bisons are in tough to start the 2018 calendar year, with the Canada West leading University of Alberta Golden Bears coming to the Wayne Fleming Arena on Jan. 5-6.
