The Lovers of Valdaro

Manitoban Literature Competition poetry runner-up

Graphic by Bradly Wohlgemuth

Bright moon and sun

Where two is one,

Are Cosmic lovers leaping

Rotating gaze

Form nights and days,

Fixed distance ever-keeping.

Igniting the skies

With watchful eyes,

Bear witness to the sorrow

Of the lovers’ embrace

Whose unknowing face,

Shall never know tomorrow.

Two hearts entwined

Till time unwind,

A pair forever sleeping;

It’s The Unquestioned Last,

Eternal cast;

For Love can’t stop the Reaping.
