RE: “Conservatism” (February 15, 2012)

With regards to the article in the Manitoban Feb. 8 2012.
Capitalism in it basic form is one tool to use for an economy of a nation.
Unfortunately capitalism will eventually give way to greed and division of the haves and have-nots.
I will be 47 years old this summer and I have always dreamed of making my own way in this world. I have no problem with a person wanting to pick up the challenge of creating their own business for their livelihood.
Sounds like a great idea; you might even create a job for one or two others or maybe hundreds. Great.
But in my 47 years I have also seen the treacherous and evil side of capitalism.
This side closes (profitable and efficient) plants in one country only to move them to another country for even more money.
Tractor manufacturers.
The side that sells mortgages to people who the sellers knew will never be able to pay for them.
Recession 2008.
The side that rapes natural resources from mother earth with no regard to the environment.
Oil and gas companies.
The side that looks for countries that use child labour.
Too many companies to list.
Listen here Spencer, your type of capitalism is all about self . . . not us but just you. The world has been running on that primitive “Meism” for the last 2,000,000,000 years. Its time for a change and it’s on the way.
It’s good to hear that the truth of the evils of capitalism is being made know to the young minds (future leaders) of this country.
Hopefully they will be wiser than the “Monsters and Beast of the past” and set their hand to the plow and till an earth that works towards building a country and society that truly includes all people.
One last thing there Spencer. You seem to have a problem with government helping the underclass . . . ya just another capitalist rant. Funny, those capitalists who whine about welfare always seem to find an appreciation for it, when their companies are failing.
Corporate welfare is wonderful stuff. Is it not Spencer?
