Crime Beat

A total of 11 thefts were reported to Security Services during the month of January. Three thefts were from vehicles parked on campus. Three involved items stolen from the U of M bookstore.

One theft occurred from an office in the Marcel Duschamps Faculty of Music. Another occurred in the women’s locker room in the Frank Kennedy centre, from an unlocked locker.

In addition, there were seven reports of mischief.

These incidents included one vehicle that was keyed in an unspecified parking lot. There was also a report of a car window being smashed. There were two reports of graffiti in elevators on the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses.

One office was broken into, but nothing was reported stolen.

The south entrance doors of the Engineering building were damaged when someone apparently tried to pry them open.
