Storylines and schedules

The following schedule indicates all of the Bison games and events that are happening in September. Season passes for all Bison home games start at $25 for students and staff and are available at the Answers booth and online.

Football
The Bison football team was victorious at their homecoming game on Saturday. With two previous losses from their first two games on the road, this was an exciting win in front of their hometown crowd. It was a perfect summer day and over 4000 fans came out to catch the game which had running back Matt Henry accomplishing 139 rushing yards and quarter back Nathan Friesen wowing the spectators as he ran for two touchdowns. The Bison’s kicker Scott Dixon also performed well as he kicked the second longest field goal in the team’s history. This game was a big turn around for the Bisons who lost their previous two games on the road. The football team plays their next game on Oct. 3rd as they host the University Alberta Golden Bears at the University of Manitoba stadium at 2p.m…

Sept. 4: away game vs. Regina (10-28 win for the Regina Rams)
Sept. 11: away game vs. Simon Fraser (7-41 win for the Simon Fraser Clan)
Sept. 19: home game vs. UBC (36-10 win for the Bisons)

Soccer
The Bison women’s soccer team was undefeated going into their game against Saskatchewan on Saturday. They impressed their fans at their first home game with a win that started with the Saskatchewan Huskies scoring a goal on their own net. Desiree Scott, Jaime Lacoste and Caley Miskimmin then each scored goals for the Bisons. This has been a great start to the season for the soccer team. On Sunday the team suffered their first loss at the University Stadium against the University of Alberta Pandas. It was a windy day that saw the pandas score two goals and the Bisons scored one. It was Caley Miskimmin who scored the Bison goal. The next game for the Bisons is on the road in Victoria.

Sept. 11: away Concordia Open (team placed fourth overall)
Sept. 12: away Cobber Invitational (team placed third overall)

Sept. 26-27: away SMSU Mustangs Invitational

Men’s golf
Sept. 11-12: away Concordia Invitational (team placed second and third overall)
Sept. 13-14: away Bemidji State Invitational (team placed second and seventh overall)
Sept. 19-20: away St. John’s Fall Invitational
Sept. 21-22: away NDSU Erv Kaiser Invitational
Sept. 27-28: away Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Collegiate
