How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Jeans. Shoes. Sweater. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Toronto or my mom. What does fashion mean to you? Fashion doesn’t mean anything to me. It is me, the same way that my hair is me, my fingers are me, my smile is me, my walk is me, etc.. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? Evan Johnson. Brooding intellectual. Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Evan Johnson. Brooding intellectual. What’s your favorite piece of clothing? A hoodie. It’s a security blanket I’m allowed to wear in public. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Dangerously safe. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Gifts, hand-me-downs (mostly pops), stores that sell long-sleeved checkered/plaid/striped collared shirts that would look good with an under shirt. What does fashion mean to you? I somewhat conciously try to look presentable/approachable with some occasional risk-taking, which is an aspect of the way I conduct myself socially. I also try to avoid trends — I won’t be wearing pre-ripped jeans any time soon, nor do I ever look out for the colour that is “in” this season. I think fashion, for many, is an artistic outlet, but for me, I have many other outlets for artistic expression — fashion isn’t at the top of the list. Partly because I loathe shopping due to laziness and hatred/fear of the marketplace. The atmosphere frightens me — scores of people buying into the materialistic mindset that “they” want us to adopt - shopping for the sake of shopping. However, I’ll never neglect style to the point of leaving the house without bathing and wearing sweats, that is outright disrespectful to those around you. Is there too much emphasis on style and surface impressions of people in our culture and not enough on what is on the inside (personality/intellect/creativity)? Yes. Is this all part of a conspiracy to get people to spend more? Yes. Is “celebrity style” a form of mind-control? Yes. Do people try to make up for their average looks by putting more emphasis on fashion instead of developing their mind and moral capacity? Maybe. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Embarrassing for Mother. Where do you usually get your clothes from? I only wear clothes that I’ve personally wrenched from the chapped hands of filthy, weeping child labourers. What does fashion mean to you? (an extension of your personality, something to hide your shame, etc.): Oscar Wilde said: “Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable we have to alter it every six months.” I believe this. What is your favourite piece of clothing? My spoo-rag. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Less is more. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Boutiques, the mall, overseas shops, and markets. What does fashion mean to you? A way to add a little spice to a necessary, repetitive, and mudane activity (getting dressed). |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Sikh meets Sheek. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Dumpsters and garbage cans; it’s dirt-cheap, and everything you find is so retro! What does fashion mean to you? Fashion, means for me, a term that usually applies to a prevailing mode of expression, but quite often applies to a personal mode of expression that may or may not apply to all. It is very personal. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? My bosses, you know the ones who sign the cheques and control the payroll: the editor-in-chief Tessa Vanderhart and managing editor Robert MacEachern. My days are not complete until I see what they are wearing. Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Me. Being on the cutting edge of fashion is a double-edged sword; sure I look fabulous, but it’s a dangerous lifestyle, as I keep hurting everyone who gets near me. I look damn good, but . . . God, I’m so desperately lonely! |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Reflective of income. Where do you usually get your clothes from? V. V. Boutique, Garage, and Joe. What does fashion mean to you? Some days, fashion just means putting clothes on because we have to, and some days, it means putting an outfit together. Fashion is being naked, only with various clothes on top. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? Megan, because she’s one of those people you see around campus that makes you think, “Yeah, that’s cute, why am I not wearing that?” Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Kevin, because he owns one pair of pants. And they’re tight, skinny, black pants. It’s not that he looks bad or lacks style, but I personally just don’t “get” those kind of pants. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Same every day. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Ebay. What does fashion mean to you? (an extension of your personality, something to hide your shame, etc.): Clothing is much like a window to one’s fashion sensibility. There is nothing more indicative of someone’s fashion sense than the clothes they wear. I really feel that when someone wears, for example, a pink shirt, it probably means that they like that colour. Conversely, if somebody i see is wearing black shoes, I think to myself “Now there’s a person who likes black shoes.” It’s amazing how indicative the clothes people wear is of their fashion sense, like a window into their fashion sensibility. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? It’s me! Because I like the clothes that I like to wear. I’m not one of those guys that wears clothes that I don’t like to wear. Because I like to wear my clothes that I like. Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Everybody is the worst. When I start to see some Armani, then we can talk. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Cool-tool. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Polo Park. What does fashion mean to you? I’ve never thought about what fashion means to me. I just wear clothes that I feel comfortable in. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? Tessa Vanderhart and Rob MacEachearn, because they are my bosses. Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? The Doctor — his clothes are too revealing. What’s my favourite piece of clothing? My underwear. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Shaken, not stirred. Where do you usually get your clothes from? The Bay Polo Park. What does fashion mean to you? Fashion is important in terms of art, expression, and appearance. It also has the potential to brand you, both in terms of your personality, as well as your social class. But fashion’s context-sensitive. It’s good on magazine covers, runways, and clubs, but not so necessary here at school. When I see people dressed up on campus like they’re heading out to the bar, I remember the timely words of my great grandfather: “This is university, not a fashion show.” Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? Any of the girls, because they make a noticeably consistent effort to change their clothes on a regular basis, unlike pretty much all the guy editors (I’m not kidding). Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Probably myself, because with school, work, sports, and the comment section, fashion falls pretty low on my list of priorities. In my defence though, my collection of hats is top-notch, featuring only the best teams found in the NHL, NFL, and CFL. Does having an excellent sense of sport team-based style count as fashion? |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Frizzy. Where do you usually get your clothes from? The clearance rack. What does fashion mean to you? Umm . . . What’s your favourite piece of clothing? Nothing’s impressing me right now. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? Hmm . . . Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Everyone looks gorgeous! |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Scrumptious with passion. Where do you usually get your clothes from? The majority of my shirts come free with beer, and my pants are stolen. What does fashion mean to you? Fashion allows me to make up for my shortcomings as a human being. Who cares how small your nipples are when you’re dressed fabulously? Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? I’ve always envied Romer’s style. He’s even looks good when hucking pizza slices off a 20th-story balcony after pounding back a bottle of Crown. Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Chelse’s style is simply disturbing. I’m not sure what dumpster she was picking through last week, but a quick stop at the laundromat would have have been appreciated. Or even a bottle of Febreze. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Better than yours. Where do you usually get your clothes from? Vintage shops. Basically any place that I happen to stroll in to. I’ve found some clothes on the ground before. So, literally, anywhere. What does fashion mean to you? Gives me a boost. It’s like anything. You put thought into something and it gives you pride. Which Toban staffer has the best style, and why? Definately Jacquie. I just want to steal all her bracelets. Which Toban staffer has the worst style, and why? Rob. Enough with the stripes! I mean really. What’s your favourite piece of clothing? This classic blue capelet that i got for five dollars from a Victoria, B.C. vintage shop. That, and my hot pink ballerina slippers with rhinestone buckles. |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? I would describe my style as fun, feminine, and fabulous! Where do you usually get your clothes from? I think Kevin and Karin both have pretty rad styles. They dare to be bold and different with their personal style and that is what fashion is all about. What does fashion mean to you? Style is fairly important to me. I enjoy experimenting with different pieces and getting inspired by new up-and-coming trends. I love being up-to-date with the latest fashions! |

How would you describe your style in 3 words or less? Powerful. Sometimes smelly. Where do you usually get your clothes from? I hate shopping, so I tend to just accumulate clothes — sometimes from Value Village, often from vintage stores whenever I travel, most often from my grandmother’s closet. What does fashion mean to you? I’m all about dressing how I feel. If I’m wearing a scarf, then I will be more than willing to have an intellectual discussion with you. If I’m naked, probably not so much. Favourite piece of clothing? Gotta be my bling, baby. That and my glasses. |
