Everyone’s favourite Winnipeg-born ’70s rocker (yep Burt, that’s right) gets his due with birthday celebrations-in-honour from Scott Nolan, D. Rangers, Western States and others.

Rock onnnnnnnn with the modern-day equivalent of KISS. For the nostalgic and blood-oriented.

4. The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema

Jealous of your pretentious, sometimes-bespectacled, deadpan-bureaucrat, sucking-the-life-out-of-Western-Civilization Culture Editor? Get edumacated about filmwize.

3. Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra: “Sentimental Journey: The War Years”

If you’re in search of a way to pay tribute to past sacrifices without glorifying current wars, then the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra has got you covered.

2. Cuff the Duke

West End Cultural Centre Nov. 9 8 p.m $15
There are tons of things to do this Friday night — but this is the one that I recommend most, as the Duke makes music that all music lovers will like.

1. Landscape of the Body

Black Hole Theatre (University College) Nov. 13-24 7 p.m. and/or 8 p.m.
Catch U of M’s aspiring actors in the first of the “season of dark comedies.” Plus a gorilla!
