STARBUCKS ON CAMPUS

ASHLEY MACLENNAN SECOND-YEAR ARTS	How do you feel about a Starbucks being in the Elizabeth Dafoe library? “I’m thrilled that we have one. It’s strange that you would put [one] in the library. I’m not going to complain.” What other franchises would you like to see on campus? “This was all that I was waiting for. I’m just really excited about Starbucks.” Is there another location that you think would be better for the Starbucks? “Even just outside the library probably would have been better. It’s kind of out of the way to come into the library, grab your drink, leave the library. Even out in the lobby would have been better.” Will it affect your choice to study in Elizabeth Dafoe? “I don’t usually study in the library anyways.”
RYAN PEDERSEN THIRD-YEAR ENGINEERING	How do you feel about a Starbucks being put in the Elizabeth Dafoe Library? “The fact that they put it right in the middle of the study area makes me think that university is once again just a big money grab.” What other franchises would you like to see on campus? “McDonald’s. Definitely.” Is there another location that you think would be better for the Starbucks? “There’s a million empty places in UC.” Will it affect your choice to study in the library? “I’d also study here but I don’t respect their decision to put it in right [in the study area].”
RHANEET TATTLA UNIVERSITY 1	How do you feel about a Starbucks being put in the Elizabeth Dafoe library? “I personally don’t like the idea of it being in here, just because it’s distracting. It’s hard to study in here. “ What other franchises would you like to see on campus? “Yeah. More coffee places, I guess.” Is there another location that you think would be better for the Starbucks? “UC would have been better rather than a library.” Do you think you’re going to study in Elizabeth Dafoe? “I don’t think so.”
LEE HORST UNIVERSITY 1	How do you feel about a Starbucks being put in the Elizabeth Dafoe library? “I’m going to spend too much time here and too much money. I like that there’s not too much of a lineup as compared to [Tim Hortons].” What other franchises would you like to see on campus? “Not that I can think of.” Will it affect your choice to study in the library? “Yeah. It’s a lot quieter, even with [Starbucks].”
