Hudson 2007-08 men’s volleyball coach
Phil Hudson will serve as head coach of the Bisons men’s volleyball
team for 2007-08. According to Bison Sports, Hudson has worked with Dakota
Collegiate since 1988, where he was head of the physical education department.
With Dakota, Hudson received the 2005-06 Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association
(MHSAA) Grey Cup Legacy High School Coach of the Year Award. Hudson has also
coached for Team Canada — as assistant coach to the women’s senior
team in 2005-06 — and Team Manitoba, where he followed the men’s
team to three Canada Games medals.
Hudson will be replacing Garth Pischke, who is taking a six-month leave
of absence.

CFL, according to Bison Sports.

Sports calendar
Empty your calendar, because Bison Sports wants to fill it.
- The Bisons men’s hockey team will play an exhibition game against
the Manitoba Moose prospects on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.. The action
takes place at the T.G. Smith Center in Steinbach, M.B.. Tickets cost $10
for adults and $5 for students aged six to 17.
- The sixth annual Bison Sports Golf Classic will be held on August 22.
The entry fee is $160, and all proceeds go toward the Bison Athletic Scholarship
Fund and Athletic Awards. The U of M golf team will hold its own tournament,
Sept. 4 at Southwood Golf and Country Club. The first-annual Bison golf team
tournament will also support Bison sports, and sponsorship options are available
beginning at $1,500.
- Bisons season tickets feature early-bird prices until Sept. 1. All-sport
passes cost $75, single-sport passes $35 (or $25 for football). That’s
a $25 savings on the all-sport passes, and a $5 savings on the single-sports.
- Five Bisons football games will be broadcast on Shaw TV, starting Sept.
