Toban Talkback

The university has recently given $45,000 to the Bisons football team to buy championship rings for their Vanier Cup win. What’s your opinion?

Chelse McKee and Magally Zelaya, staff

Kelly Hildbrand
University 1

Oh my goodness, that’s such a waste of money. I think so. That’s a lot of money for that.

Stephen Rice
Second-year, University 1

I don’t think it’s necessary. There’s much more inexpensive ways. Definitely, they should be recognized. The feat they accomplished this year was incredible but to spend . . . $45,000 is a huge chunk of change to waste on aesthetics.

Saliou Sakl
Second-year, recreation management

They deserve it. They worked hard. Why not celebrate it? I just want to know where they’re going to get the money from.

Marjan Peric
Second-year, arts

If my team got $45,000, I’d be happy. I just think it’s pretty sweet, you know?

Tanya Wasil
University 1

That’s a lot of money, I’d say. I guess they should get some credit for [winning the game]. I don’t know. To me, that seems like a lot of money.
