Tessa Klassen
women’s basketball |
Tess Klassen’s hustle on defence and sharp shooting on offence helped the Bisons women’s basketball team to a weekend sweep over the University of Brandon Lady Bobcats. Klassen finished with 42 points (including seven makes from downtown), and added six steals as well. |
Nick Cowan
men’s hockey |
With playoff implications on the line, and in hostile territory, Nick Cowan’s three-point weekend helped propel the Bisons men’s hockey team two a two-game road-sweep of the UBC Thunderbirds. Cowan had an assist on each of Manitoba’s first two goals in the first game, then opened up the scoring in the second game. |
Braeden Taylor
swimming |
Taylor’s strong performance at the Canada West Championships over the weekend helped the men’s swimming team finish in fifth spot with 185 points — a 22 point improvement from last year. The highlight of Taylor’s weekend was his gold medal performance in the 200-metre backstroke. |
