Memories of white starched uniforms, playing bridge between classes, a dungeon-like anatomy lab, the terror of Joe Doupe and hundreds of hugs and similar stories flooded Brodie Centre on Sept. 15 and 16 at the Homecoming reunions for the school of medical rehabilitation (SMR) and the faculty of medicine. The reunions celebrated and honoured SMR graduates of 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and faculty of medicine graduates of 1951, 1956, 1960, 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981,1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, and alumni from the ’30s and ’40s. Dean Sandham, dean of the faculty of medicine and university president Emöke Szathmáry gave speeches at the faculty of medicine Homecoming Breakfast. More than 80 SMR alumni and guests, and 200 faculty of medicine alumni and guests attended this past weekend’s event.
