BISON TALKBACK

WORLD CUP

VUTHANA SUON STAFF

Jeff Shaddock
Second-year Education

Did you watch the World Cup?

“I watched or taped every single game. This was the first time that I had followed the World Cup really closely, and it was really interesting to watch.”

What did you hate or were most frustrated about?

“Diving. It slows the game down so much, and it’s unfortunate that there’s a culture in soccer of trying to fool the official, and that it’s okay to do so.”

Anything else that frustrated you?

“For me personally, England losing. Although I was really happy that the Canadian guy was the only one who managed to score a goal in the penalty shootout for England.”

Did you watch the World Cup?

“Yup. I watched most of the games.”

What did you hate or were most frustrated about?

“I hated when the referee gave so many yellow cards when Portugal played against . . . I can’t remember the other team.”

Did you watch the World Cup?

Yeah I caught a few games, but I couldn’t stand it after awhile.”

So I’m guessing you didn’t enjoy it?

“No. These soccers players are ridiculous. They flop on every little touch. Are you kidding me? It’s like they’re Hollywood actors.”
