Apology

Note: This apology should have run last week. Due to an error, it wasn’t.

In an article in the March 14 issue, “More effective cigarette warning labels,” I carelessly used a derogatory term. Though my intent was purely satiric, I now realize that particular word is extremely offensive, and should never be used in any context. I would like to formally apologize to anyone who was offended by my callous and, arguably, unfunny writing.
