Bison sport athletes of the Week

Track and field
Year: one
Hometown: Winnipeg, Man.
Faculty: University 1
Ferguson continued his strong second-half of the season at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa from Feb. 9-10. Ferguson ran the anchor leg for the men’s 4x400- metre relay team, which qualified for the CIS Nationals with a time of 3:17.47.
Sarah Stebeleski
Women’s hockey
Year: three
Hometown: Lorette, Man.
Faculty: physical education
Stebeleski had two points and two shootout goals in the Bisons’ weekend sweep of the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Feb. 9 and 10. Stebeleski and the rest of the Bisons women’s hockey team will be in Regina for a best-of-three Canada West semi-final from Feb. 23-25.

Josh Klassen
Men’s volleyball, left side
Year: five
Hometown: Winnipeg, Man.
Faculty: education
Klassen did all he could to keep the Bisons men’s volleyball season going. In three matches with the UBC Thunderbirds, Klassen had 47 kills and 17 digs. Unfortunately it was not enough, as the Bisons lost two of the three matches and were eliminated from the playoffs.
Rachel Hart
Women’s basketball
Year: four
Hometown: Ancaster, Ont.
Faculty: physical education
Rachel Hart was everywhere on the court, as the Bisons women’s basketball team advanced to the Great Plains division final by defeating the Regina Cougars 2-0. In game one Hart had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while in game two she contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.
