Toban Talkback - Students don’t crave competition

All UMSU executive positions are uncontested in the current UMSU general election. This includes presidential candidate Garry Sran, who’s running for his second term in a row.

Lauren Mackenzie Fourth-year science	Do you think there should have to be someone running against him? I don’t think that someone should run just for the sake of running. I think that they have to have a plan, and they have to understand what’s involved with the position, and all of the responsibilities it entails.
Sherry Bilenki Second-year science	Would you like to see someone running against him? Not necessarily. Whoever is the president should be someone that wants to do it. If he’s the only one that wants it, then he should have it. We need a president, and the fact that he wants to do it is a good enough reason for why he should get the job.
