Bison sport athletes of the Week

For the week ending January 21, 2007

Darcy Coss
Men’s basketball, guard/forward
Year: four
Hometown: Winnipeg, Man.
Faculty: arts
Coss’ off ence was vital, as the Bisons completed their first home sweep of the season. In victories over Th ompson Rivers and Fraser Valley, Coss poured in 58 points, which included an amazing 12 three-point fi eld goals.
Julianne Toogood
Swimming
Year: two
Hometown: Winnipeg, Man.
Faculty: management
Toogood took home fi ve medals at the 2007 Canada West Championships in Calgary, including two individual medals, and three medals as part of the relay team. Toogood earned her two silver medals in the 100-metre and 200-metre freestyles.

Men’s basketball, guard
Year: three
Hometown: East St. Paul, Man.
Faculty: arts
The Bisons pushed the number 2- ranked Brandon Bobcats to their absolute limits, and Pereira was a big reason why. He had 39 points on a dazzling 57 per cent shooting in the two contests.
Sarah Holder
Women’s basketball, forward
Year: fi ve
Hometown: Winnipeg, Man.
Faculty: physical education
The women’s basketball team was able to push their winning streak to a season-high six games. Sarah Holder led the way with 29 points over the weekend, as the Bisons made short work of the Brandon Bobcats.
